Periodic inspections and remediation of fire protection

We check the condition of installed fire protection and restore its continuity after damage and services work.

Periodic inspections and remediation – PaloStop project

We offer periodic inspections and remediation of existing fire protection and firestopping measures. Regular checks of their condition make it possible to detect damage, missing material, material wear and alterations resulting from building or installation work.

During inspections, we assess the condition of the installed protection and its compliance with the system used and the technical documentation. Where damage or defects are found, we define the scope of work needed to restore the protection to its proper condition.

Remediation of fire protection measures may include reinstating damaged sections, making good missing material, repairing areas disturbed during upgrades to building services, and restoring the continuity of existing fire protection.

We carry out inspections and remediation work in existing buildings, adapting our approach to the type of protection, the technology used and the technical conditions of the building.

Legal basis

Act of 24 August 1991 on Fire Protection – consolidated text published in the Announcement of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland of 5 February 2025 on the publication of the consolidated text of the Act on Fire Protection (Journal of Laws (Dz.U.) 2025, item 188).

Under Article 4(1)(3) of the Act, the owner of a building, other construction work or area, in ensuring fire protection, is obliged to provide for technical inspections, maintenance and repairs of fire protection equipment and fire extinguishers in a manner that guarantees their efficient and reliable operation.

Detailed requirements for the technical inspection and maintenance of fire protection equipment are also laid down in the Regulation of the Minister of the Interior and Administration of 7 June 2010 on the fire protection of buildings, other construction works and areas. Under § 3(2), inspections and maintenance of fire protection equipment and fire extinguishers are carried out in accordance with Polish Standards, technical and operating documentation (DTR) and the manufacturer’s instructions. In turn, § 3(3) states that inspections and maintenance should be carried out at intervals specified by the manufacturer, but not less than once a year.

Regular inspections, maintenance and repairs keep fire protection equipment in a condition that ensures its correct and reliable operation. For passive fire protection measures – such as penetration seals, expansion joint seals and fire protection board enclosures – the scope and frequency of inspections should in each case be determined by reference to the system used, the technical documentation, the manufacturer’s requirements and the conditions of use of the building.
